We have two events which are limited in number so are only available to GWG members.

Wednesday 17 May 2023 : 1000-1200 "Birds of the Derwent Valley" with Michael Turner, a local expert
It will cost £5 per person payable on the day. The visit will involve a walk of approximately 2-3 miles with some standing (watching birds).
The walk will start from the Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre, Winlaton Mill, NE21 6RU
Members have to book in advance as numbers are limited to 15.
Saturday 8 July 2023 : 1000-1200 "Rewilding a Site at Follingsby" with Peter Shield, an ecologist
This is private land so we are lucky to have this opportunity to visit the area which has wetland and a variety of habitats.
We will meet at the Amazon Distribution Warehouse, 17 Follingsby Lane, Wardley, Gateshead, NE10 8YA
There is no cost for this visit but Members will need to book in avance as numbers are capped at 20. Parking is limited so there will be a need to car share or to use public transport if possible (once we have a list of attendees, we will be in touch regarding advice on public transport / car sharing).
Please register your interest in attending with Jackey Lockwood at jackeylockwood@yahoo.co.uk
